YOUR ROLE


Responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of all contract security personnel.  Develop and implement standard operating procedures for security operations.  Develop and report on Key Performance Indicators for the department.  Oversee and manage the financial aspects of the Corporate Security budget and maintain a positive customer experience by managing special security programs per customer guidelines.  Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

 

  • Lead, direct, and oversee the day-to-day operations of all contract security personnel.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized operating procedures for security operations.
  • Review, select, and continuously evaluate outside vendors providing security services.
  • Ensure reported allegations are documented in the case tracking system and assigned to the appropriate investigator for investigation.
  • Coordinate the documentation of all investigations and field security compliance inspections.
  • Conduct security audits as necessary and in compliance with the corporate security auditing policy.
  • Perform security risk assessments based on vulnerability criteria to determine appropriate levels of protection.
  • Work collaboratively with station management to resolve issues involving the station; and to improve overall security effectiveness in targeted areas. 
  • Facilitate and promote activities to create security awareness at the field location.
  • Establish and maintain a rapport with client security managers.
  • Perform accounts payable functions that ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time.
  • Manage the receipt and re-billing of security related matters.
  • Maintain the department’s profit & loss statement.
  • Analyze financial data to determine areas of improvement.
  • Develop a periodic Security newsletter for dissemination to customers and employees.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations.

 

 WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 Education and Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum three to five years’ experience in managing security functions required. 
  • Minimum three years’ supervisory or managerial experience required. 

 

Skills:

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Professional Suite, including intermediate knowledge of Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with physical security, security principals, investigative processes, report preparation and interviewing.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in managing security and surveillance related systems, CCTV, access control, GPS tracking and intrusion tracking.
  • Ability to effectively communicate security operations related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
  • Experience with, or ability to understand internal and external implications of solutions proposed, potential areas of risk and methods to limit liabilities.
  • Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, organization, presentation and negotiating skills.
  • Knowledgeable in the principles of project management, quality assurance and contract service delivery.
  • Ability to establish and manage vendor relationships.
  • Requires excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information.
  • Ability to make the internal customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; develops and sustains productive relationships.
  • Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition; handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization.
  • Use appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to help build a cohesive team and facilitate the completion of team goals.

 

Characteristics:

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, and vendors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including diplomacy and patience.

 

Travel is required at least 25% of the time in this position.  Travel identified is approximately 90% domestic (within the United States) and approximately 10% international (outside of the United States).
