YOUR ROLE

 

We are looking for a passionate Export Controls & Trade Compliance Professional to join our Ethics & Compliance (E&C) Function, contributing to drive a culture of sustainable business growth in line with our key values, ensuring we exceed the expectations of our customers, and collaborating with other functions to foster an integrated approach to managing compliance risks.

 

Acting as a trusted business partner, you are responsible for managing core elements of our export controls related processes & trade compliance program on a global scale, leading associated activities, developing, implementing, and continuously improving processes, strategies, and systems; as well as ensuring a strong business partnership and alignment with other functions.

 

As a seasoned Export Control Professional, Trade Compliance, and/or Third-Party Risk Manager with experience in a similar role, you will have continued interactions with various business partners, our customers, and other assurance functions to ensure the company’s operations are in line with applicable regulations.

 

We have several openings: the final position (officer, manager, or senior manager) will depend on experience & expertise.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

 

Specific responsibilities within your scope will include

 

Strategy

  • Proactive contribution to the strategy for the assigned ethics & compliance (sub)function and the related compliance program areas.
  • Where appropriate/required suggest and implement continuous improvement to the strategy and ethics & compliance program.

 

Partnership with Business development

  • Drive and foster effective partnership, proactive involvement in, and timely advise & support to business development.

 

Excellence in partnership & support to our customers

  • Drive, foster and actively contribute to ensure the needs of the Company’s customers are met & addressed with excellence from an ethics & compliance perspective.

 

Core Compliance Program elements:

  • Accountability by delegation for a given functional or geographical scope to ensure core compliance program elements are implemented, continuously improved, and consistently matured as well as delivered with excellence.
  • ITAR, EAR, export & import controls (US, EU, other jurisdictions), dual use, product classifications – subject matter expertise, delivery, appropriate handling & escalation, assurance for business continuity of the processes, underlying systems, and continued improvement of control mechanisms in line with applicable & up to date requirements.
  • Improve continuously, initiate where needed, design, and support the establishment of standards and related processes based on global policies, all applicable laws and regulations including local industry codes.

 

Leadership & Continuous development

  • Actively contribute to ensure the team works as a "high performing team", being inspirational E&C professional and role model for others in the organization.
  • Ensure self, team members, and the function overall stays abreast of regulations, jurisprudence, best practices, and innovations.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

What you will bring to the team:

 

  • University degree in Law, or Compliance (and/or trade compliance related field) at least at Bachelor (Master Level preferred).
  • Experience and expertise with sanctions, embargoes, screening and third-party Risk Assessment / Due Diligence are a plus;
  • Strong expertise (specific qualification like ECTI desirable) and experience (at least two years is a must for manager level) in a similar role at global scale, ideally in a supply chain & logistics related company or a company with complex supply chain flows and trade compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in English and ideally proficient in at least one other language.

 

We need someone who excels in listening, has strong influencing and negotiation skills, has a can-do attitude, is able to roll up the sleeves to drive the implementation of agile and pragmatic solutions, and naturally communicates effectively and concisely.
