Global Ocean Operations Excellence Expert

YOUR ROLE

 

The Global Operational Excellence Expert is responsible for leading the governance of ocean operations, meaning ensuring the proper execution of ocean operations as per global processes and work instructions. The Global Operational Excellence Expert is therefore responsible for driving the compliance with company policies and procedures, ISO standards, and all applicable regulatory guidelines and for ensuring that all the proper Key Performance Indicators are in place.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

 

Governance

  • Drive adherence to KPIs and regulatory laws, company policies and procedures/guidelines, ISO standards across the regions
  • Create and Maintain business processes, requirements and Work Instructions for Ocean Operations
  • Communicate business and processes changes throughout across the regions
  • Drive implementation and support countries in deploying station footprint
  • Communicate changes of country regulatory compliance to the network
  • Act as a Liaison between the Global organization and Regional/Country Ocean Operations
  • Participate to internal workshops with business stakeholders (e.g. IT, Business Implementation, Global BPE, Product Owners…) to provide guidance on ocean operations processes and standards. Act as a internal consultant with regards to ocean operations
  • Define and drive the global Key Performance Indicators for ocean operations to ensure proper execution
  • Lead Performance Management reviews with the Regional/Country Ocean Operations Management to drive KPI adherence
  • Define reporting requirements, solutions, dashboards needed to drive the ocean operations excellence
  • Participate in solutions workhops with involved stakeholders when required

 

Project Management + Deployment

  • Monitor resources allocated to the project as well as deliverables (time, scope, budget)
  • Introduction of change management
  • Ensure full understanding of global framework, standards and processes in regions
  • Drive, support and monitor the implementation of organizational and process changes
  • Act as escalation point and resolve country conflicts in / between projects or functional areas
  • Conduct business workshops with all other involved stakeholders
  • Report and escalate to global management as needed

 

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

  • Graduation in Supply Chain / Forwarding or related courses
  • Strong analytical and conceptual capabilities
  • Attention to details and strong organizational skills
  • Experienced in analysing and documenting diverse business processes and workflows
  • Good communication and leadership skills as the role requires frequent communication to various directions and all management levels
  • Experienced in BI and reporting solutions
  • Cooperative team working attitude 
  • Quality and efficiency driven working style
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proactive, positive, enthusiastic and self-driven
  • Deep understanding of ocean operations freight forwarding
  • Experience in creating processes, working operating procedures
  • Solid grasp of project management, preference and Communication
  • Fluent in Business English (spoken and written)
  • Strong leadership skills: sets clear goals and achieves results, develops solid relationships within the team, persuades and influences others, motivates people to perform, delegates and empowers others
  • Ability to mentor and coach in a team environment; ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely
